Wheel Guard
Wheel Guard is a tough, clear coating that protects wheels against corrosion and oxidation
Wheel Guard is not a wax, but is a tough, crystal clear protective coating that uses Everbrite coating technology to protect aluminium, chrome and alloy wheels from corrosion and oxidation. It also seals and protects stainless steel and anodised aluminium. Wheel Guard is a one-part, self-levelling coating that is easy to apply and durable enough to keep your wheels looking great, even if you drive through corrosive road salts in winter.
Easy to apply, reapply and remove
Wheel Guard isn't thick or plastic-looking but makes metal appear freshly polished. Application, removal for re-application and re-coating (Wheel Guard blends to itself) couldn't be more straightforward. Full instructions can be downloaded below. Two coats are recommended for winter use.
The dangers of brake dust
Brake dust is highly corrosive, can permanently damage the finish of your wheels and is the single most destructive contaminant that plagues vehicle wheels. Brake dust is a fine powder residue created by the brake disk wearing away at the brake pads/lining. The pads contain carbon fibres, metal filings and an acidic adhesive. It is very sticky and collects in every nook and cranny of the wheel. If allowed to sit on wheels, brake dust can pit the metal and leave gummy deposits that are hard to remove.
Beware of highly acidic cleaners because they can damage the finish on wheels. When cleaning wheels, start with the least aggresive method of cleaning - soap and water. If necessary use a cleaner free of oxalic acid - such as Restore. IMPORTANT: For best results we recommend that you neutralize your wheels with a soapy water solution, dry and then wipe down areas to be coated with de-natured alcohol (or methylated spirits) prior to application.
Not just good for wheels!
Wheel Guard isn't just good for protecting wheels. It can protect any 'bright' polished or bare metals on your car's exterior, interior and even under the bonnet. Aluminium trims, chrome tail pipes and exhausts, etc, will look freshly polished after coating - and will stay that way. Wheel Guard is heat resistant to 450°F, won't crack, fade or peel and protects indefinitely when maintained. It is recommended for anodized and unpainted metal, is tough, has excellent adhesion on bare metal and will protect from road salts.
